Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the 2010 Centre College Alternative Spring Break Blog! On Saturday, March 20th , 37 Centre students and 2 Centre staff are headed to Atlanta, Georgia for Spring Break. This will be no ordinary spring break but will prove to be a great week of service, fun, and community.

Our names are Emmy and Kate, and we are first-year students here at Centre. We have had the blessing to help organize this event and are thrilled at the results! We would like to take a minute to thank Centre College’s Student Government Association (SGA) who helped to fund this trip, Centre Action Reaches Everyone (C.A.R.E.) who helped to organize and initiate this project, Megan Noltemyer and Elizabeth Wisman who are Centre Staff persons embarking on this adventure with us, and Patrick Noltemeyer, the Dean of Community Service and Director of the Bonner Program, and President John Roush who have continually supported and encouraged us in our ASB ventures.

Throughout the next week (March 19th – March 28th) all the ASB participants will take a few moments to update you about the status of our trip and our service. Please feel free to post any questions or comments you have about the trip. Also, you may contact any of the ASB Team Members via Centre College email (firstname.lastname@centre.edu), and they would be happy to talk with you about their ASB experience.

Best wishes,

Emmy and Kate
